Visiting me in the Capitol: My office in the capitol building is 205B, which is on the main floor (level 2) as you enter the building from the east side. My capitol phone number is 505-986-4243. I will have an administrative assistant in my office area who will greet you in the likely event that I am not in my office, and that person will help you track me down if you want to visit. It will help if you let me know in advance that you want to drop by, but this is not required. We encourage all citizens, and especially constituents from our districts, to drop in for a visit and see us working on the people's business.
Parking: Parking in the vicinity of the Capitol is always difficult, but during the session it can be very difficult. There is a large surface lot on the east side of the building, between the Capitol and the PERA building. These spaces fill up fast, but you can always look. There is a multi-story legislative parking garage which is open to the public. The parking structure is directly west of the State Capitol and can be accessed from Galisteo Street, a one-way street going north (click here for directions http://goo.gl/dFeLz). Parking is free in the parking structure. If you should find a parking space on the street, be sure to feed the parking meter and observe the time limits. These are strictly enforced by the City of Santa Fe. Do not park at a meter with a red hood on it or you may be towed.
Committee assignments: I have been assigned to three committees. I am a member of the Taxation and Revenue Committee and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. I have also been named Chairman of the Enrolling and Engrosing Committee - A. Normally freshman do not get chairmanships, but they reserve this chairmanship as an honor for one of the freshmen. This year they chose me out of the class of 20 freshman. Nice.
